Welcome to Zerobooks.net

Zero Books, was established in 1993 as an independent publisher of poetry and essays. Its initial publications included the anthologies Tales from the Heartland and Confessions of the Damned in 1994. Zero Books has recently centered its efforts and proceeds on combatting illiteracy in the United States by funding public education programs and continuing education seminars for adults.

Mission Statement: To facilitate the expansion of poetry into mainstream culture by inspiring " working class poets " to write, perform and publish poetry both electronically and in hard copy formats.

November 19, 2004 - Zero Books, Announces Readers for December 18 Poets and Prophets,

Zero Books Continues 'Poets and Prophets' series on Saturday, December 18 at Athena Books, 154 S. Kalamazoo Mall, at 2:00pm. An open mic will follow the featured readers, Award Recipients from the Friends of Poetry Contest.. .

October 29, 2004 - Zero Books, in partnership with Athena Books, launches a series of workshops

Zero Books, in partnership with Athena Books of Kalamazoo, Michigan is launching a series of poetry readings and collaborative workshops for the poetry novice and enthusiast. The first reading will take place Saturday, November 20 at Athena Books, 154 S. Kalamazoo Mall, at 4:00pm. An open mic will follow the featured reader, William Craft, Jr.; Zero Books will also present an overview of the organization.

 


Tales From The Heartland Tales From The Heartland is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. TFTH features poems from Americans from different socio-economic and political perspectives. Zero Books is extra vigilant in its attempts to ensure all perspectives are equally represented.

Confessions Of The Damned Confessions of the Damned is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. COTD features poems that represent dark emotion. Zero Books is looking for poems that express these emotions without becoming overly trite or self-serving.

Soul Like The WindSoul Like The Wind is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. SLTW features poems that express positive emotion. Zero Books is looking for poems that can communicate these emotions without becoming overly sentimental.

Unpopular Unpopular is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. Unpopular features political poems and "philosophical" essays. Zero Books is looking for work that represents a broad cross-section of opinion both global and domestic. No diatribes or rants, please.

New Voices New Voices is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. New Voices features poems and essays from all perspectives but written by unpublished poets. Zero Books is looking for unique expression of emotion through poetry.

Expressions Expressions is one of Zero Books' six rotating titles and is published once every three years. Expressions, like life, seeks the eclectic and unexpected. It does not center on any one theme, but hopes to provide space to embrace a cross section of ideas.
